2017 Class Visits Temple University

Last Friday, the Hellenic Hearts 2017 Class started its college tour season with a visit to Temple University. Students and parents were treated to a campus tour, which included visits to the university’s student center, business school, and technology center. After the tour, the group was given a presentation by the admissions office during which topics such as financial aid, admissions requirements, and tips on applying to Temple were addressed. The day ended with a Q&A session with current Temple students.

Hellenic Hearts Invitational Golf Tournament

“This event now gives us our sea legs to move forward and implement our crisis management system, scholarships, and begin funding our Educational Guidance program,” said John Aivazoglou, founder of the Hellenic Hearts nonprofit organization. It was the first ever Hellenic Hearts Invitational Golf Tournament, hosted at Waynesborough Country Club this past Monday and the organization’s friends and Greek community were in attendance.

“If you want to go fast - go alone. If you want to go far - take others,” said Catherine Avgeris, the keynote speaker and recently retired CFO of Comcast. Avgeris addressed the guests, parents, and students at the first ever Educational Guidance Program (EGP) sponsored by nonprofit Hellenic Hearts organization. The inspiring comment brought a hearty applause from the crowd and is arguably a motto that will come to represent Hellenic Hearts.

Hellenic Hearts Building & Empowering the Next Generation of Greek-Americans

An old English proverb says, “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” That simple concept may be what makes the Hellenic Hearts Foundation different from other Greek organizations in Philadelphia. The newly formed foundation hosted its first fundraiser this past Saturday evening at Estia Restaurant. Some 120 Hellenes, Philhellenes, and friends attended. They got to meet the board and founding members.

Hellenic Hearts to Host Inaugural Dinner

This Saturday evening the 1st Hellenic Hearts Inaugural Dinner-membership drive will take place at Estia Restaurant in Philadelphia. The event will feature wine tasting, food stations, and a silent auction. This is a perfect evening to meet the founder, John Aivazoglou and his staff. They will introduce the organization and program. The Hellenic Hearts are a new non-profit in the Greater Philadelphia area working hard to provide quick help for Hellenes in need.
