“This event now gives us our sea legs to move forward and implement our crisis management system, scholarships, and begin funding our Educational Guidance program,” said John Aivazoglou, founder of the Hellenic Hearts nonprofit organization. It was the first ever Hellenic Hearts Invitational Golf Tournament, hosted at Waynesborough Country Club this past Monday and the organization’s friends and Greek community were in attendance.

An old English proverb says, “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” That simple concept may be what makes the Hellenic Hearts Foundation different from other Greek organizations in Philadelphia. The newly formed foundation hosted its first fundraiser this past Saturday evening at Estia Restaurant. Some 120 Hellenes, Philhellenes, and friends attended. They got to meet the board and founding members.
There is a new non-profit in the Greater Philadelphia area working hard to provide quick help for Hellenes in need. Hellenic Hearts offers a needs-based safety net, providing funds for services ranging from financial aid for education to temporary housing, to food assistance. “We have put together an incredible board that is going to work very, very hard to make sure that people that need, and have hardship, will get help in an expedited manner,” says John Aivazoglou, Esq.
Philadelphia, PA – This past Saturday evening, attorney John Aivazoglou celebrated his 50th birthday party. Some 250 friends and family came out to share the moment with Aivazoglou at the Skybox Event Center. John Aivazoglou and his family have been lifetime members of St. George Greek Orthodox church in Media, where he has served on the board and worked on various philanthropic endeavors on behalf of the church and the Greek community.
